The federal lawmaker representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has congratulated Major General Lukman Omoniyi on his elevation from the rank of Brigadier General.
Major Omoniyi who hails from Ikare Akoko, Ondo state, is one of the 41 Officers of the Nigerian Army recently promoted to the rank of Major General and deployed as Director Campaign Planning, Army Headquarters, Department of Operation.
In a statement by his Spokesperson, Alao Babatunde, the legislator hailed General Omoniyi for his diligence which has earned him this new feat.
“The rank of a Major General in the Army is not what you achieve in a day. It takes years of service, commitment and patriotism.
“I want to thank him for making not just Ikare Akoko proud but also bringing the Akoko heritage to the limelight again. You will remain a role model as always and you are guaranteed of our support and cooperation.”
The Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) encouraged youths to take a cue from the accomplishment of General Omoniyi.
