SENATOR ADEOLA EMPOWERS 3,500 CONSTITUENTS IN VOCATIONAL SKILLS

No fewer than 3,500 constituents including 50 physically challenged persons trained in various vocational skills of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have benefited from Senator Solomon Adeola “Oko-wo Yayi” and start up kits initiative across the Lagos West Senatorial District.

 

The constituents, who had undergone training in various skills acquisition in the last couple of weeks were elated to witness the distribution of working tools such as tailoring machine, paint brushes, hair washers, washing base, make-up bags, gas cookers among others by the senator.

Speaking at the event held at Vintage Point, Acme Road, Lagos, in collaboration with Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (SMEDAN), Adeola said that the programme was to thank God and give back the dividends of democracy to his constituents for voting for him in Alimosho Local Government Area of the State.

 

Adeola, who gave out cash gift and certificates to the people that participated in the vocational training skills said that the purpose of the initiative was to empower and alleviate his people from poverty promising to hold the second part of the project before the year runs out.



The Senator also asked the people to always support the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu while appealing to them to vote for the National Leader of All Progressive Progressive Congress (APC) Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the president of the country comes 2023.

 

He, however, reeled out other ongoing projects in his constituency including road projects, distribution and installation of transformers, renovation of primary and secondary schools with the distribution of Mathematics and English Language text books as well as renovation of primary health care centres.

 

Adeola, while charging the people not to sell the equipments but make judicious use of them to better their lives, said that as long as he remains the senator in 2023 he would continue to do things that would make them employer of labour and improve their standards of living.

 

He said “What we are doing here today is to alleviate the suffering of our people and to empower them as well. This is just the first stage of this programme and before the end of this year the second stage of this programme will hold for another round of people.

 

“The training you have undergone for the last couple of weeks, we want you to put it in proper use. And all the equipment distributed today, please, don’t sell them because the insinuations we have out there is that whatever you give to them, they usually sell it.

 

“Aside this, there are so many other projects going on across Lagos West Senatorial districts, at least, more than 15 roads in Lagos West is under construction and about 7 to 8 of these roads is already concluded.



“Also installation of transformers is currently ongoing across Lagos West and we have supplied 28 transformers to 28 LCDAs, we have also begun installation in 10 areas and the remaining 18 installation will commence this week.

“A lot of school is under renovation across Lagos West. Next, we will be distributing another text books, Maths and English to another batches of all students in Lagos West Senatorial district, which will including exercise books, mathematical set, school bags to primary and secondary schools across Lagos West.

 

“We are equipping more than 10 of our hospital with brand new medical equipment across Lagos West Senatorial district. We are renovating so many of our primary health care in collaboration with Lagos State Government across Lagos west.

 

“We are in total support of our Governor, Sanwo-Olu who is doing everything to make Lagos State safest State in Nigeria. We will also continue to support our leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and we prayed that 2023 it is our wish that Aso rock should be the next destination of our father.”

 

One of the beneficiaries, who gave her name as Ayo Oladimeji hailed the senator for empowering them, calling on the constituents to return such gesture by voting for Adeola in 2023.
