Senator Isaac Mwaura explains how he and wife lost two kids in 2017

Nominated Senator, Isaac Mwaura, says 2017 was a very tough year for him and his wife after they lost two kids.

The couple had been blessed with triplets but two of the kids did not survive after spending some time in NICU.

Speaking during an interview with Ala C, Mwaura narrated;

“In 2016 we were expecting triplets, In January 2017 I was attending a fundraiser for the Jubilee nominations.

”I was called and told my wife had become sick, I called the driver and asked him to take her to the hospital.

As I was preparing to go to the hospital the next day she called and told me she was being taken to the theatre to deliver.”

Mwaura said he was not ready for what happened next.

“I found very tiny babies born at 28 weeks, we had been blessed with 2 boys and 1 girl. The babies were taken to NICU, the girl died after 1 day, for the next 72 hours my son was resuscitated 20 times.

I told them not to do it anymore because even if he was to survive he might have ended in a cabbage state.”

Adding he said, “I was already in love with my daughter before I met her. We went through hell after losing 2 kids (a boy and a girl). At the time all five of us were admitted to Nairobi hospital as I had to undergo minor surgery.

”The loss really affected me and my wife, it is only now that she is recovering.”

The couple was left with a hospital bill of 11.2 million.

Mwaura Isaac Maigua is a Kenyan politician, a disability advocate and a Nominated Senator in the Kenya’s Senate, representing Persons with Disabilities. He was the first Member of Parliament in Kenya with Albinism.
