Covid-19: Should we avoid Primus?

I’ve spent 3 days trying to drop this post, each time, I have had reasons to hold on a little while till this morning because I don’t want to glorify a loser.

It’s true that humans try to compete against each other and the environment to survive but focusing your attention to killing your neighbour or colleague isn’t progressive.

While we’re all battling to survive this pandemic, humans that are supposed to be close allies working together for a better system are conspiring to outdo each other.

A time we should be closer than ever, someone is trying hard to kill the existence of another… Tueh!

4 days ago, I received a message from bulk spread casting aspersions on Gov Willie Obiano, his Chief of Staff, Primus Odili and alleging that Odili’s wife brought coronavirus to the Government House in Awka.

First, it takes acute heartlessness to play with coronavirus no matter how harmless the play might look talk more of attempting to cause public panic.

What is the gain of using bulk SMS to allege that there’s an outbreak of Covid-19 in the Government House, when there’s nothing like that?

What do you intend to gain? Is that opposition too? Isn’t that too big a damage for a vendetta?

How can you claim wife of Chief of Staff brought in the virus from America? No matter your grouse with another why bring in the person’s family? To what end?

The message even claimed that my friend and respected Igwe Kelly Okalagwu was killed by Covid-19 days after meeting our dear Governor… How?

Isn’t that ridiculous? A disrespect to the dead, a Royal Father who fought gallantly to stay alive in Lagos through months of ill health.

Covid-19 flew in from US, dodging all the test centres and airport checks, landed in Awka to infect and begin to kill people the next day? What an American wonder!

Is it the same Covid-19 that has gestation period or a special kind?

That’s why I had difficulties dropping this post? The message sent around is so childish, meaningless and funny, at same time; But I’m compelled to write this after imagining the level of hate and bitterness in the heart of whoever that sent that message:

You sat, planned it all and concocted such tales of lies and blackmail involving a person’s wife and a dead human with the risk of instigating public panic; just to harm another person.

It’s the height of wickedness and a first grade criminal offence that shouldn’t pass without severe punishment especially when the perpetrator is closer than you can imagine.

The person against Primus is a familiar face; a fellow who has been given all opportunities by this Government and our noble party, yet he failed woefully… Oga, let me not expose you now but know that you ain’t unknown!

Such acts of yours do not really hurt the intended but many other persons around including you and your family; and when one tries to fight people better than them end up worse than themselves.

If you don’t have a job but fighting those with jobs; no promotion but against those with promotions; no happy home and against those with peaceful homes; and not favoured but at war with those in favour… Sorry my dear!

You’re a loser and we shall avoid you, not Primus Odili
