STARTNOWAFRICA BEGINS #SAYNOTODRUGABUSESECONDARYSCHOOL TOUR



StartNowAfrica, an NGO starts a Say No To Drug Abuse across secondary schools in Lagos with support from Gryn Index Initiative.

This iniative is aimed at visiting all secondary schools in Nigeria and creating more awareness about the rise in the use of hard drugs such as codeine, tramadol, rohynol and others among youths and students.

The tour kicked off in Agbado, Oke aro, in Ogun State where the team comprising young graduate, visited over 10schools on the first part of the tour reaching out to over 2,000 students including public and private schools.

 



Their first move was on Wednesday, 16th January, 2019.

Samantha Mahmoud the coordinators of #SAYNOTODRUGABUSESECONDARYSCHOOL TOUR said that the first use of drugs are between 10-29years of age as reported by UNODC  which shows that students from secondary schools are included that is why they are taking this awareness to all secondary schools.

Ohore Emmanuel the Convener of STARTNOWAFRICA said “this is a movement of young people running after young ones.”

“Drug abuse is everywhere, in our market places, schools, religious gathering, street etc.Our aim is to reach out to over 5million secondarysecondaryschool students before 2019 via every of our platform,” he concluded.
