Ten famous celebrities Nigeria has lost in the year 2021
The Nigeria entertainment industry has already suffered great losses. Despite it just being April 2021, a number of celebrities and socialites have already lost their lives. KapitaG has gathered a list of some of these important personalities who have already sadly ended their 2021 journey. Celebrities are also people whose deaths greatly affect fans.
It is always painful to see a once lively personality give up the ghost, seeing as it serves as a reminder that we would all leave the world someday. The year 2021 has no doubt been a tough one for many people particularly in the entertainment and showbiz industry. A number of celebrity deaths have already been recorded despite it just being the beginning of the second quarter.
1. Dokta Frabz:
On Saturday, February 27, Nigerian music producer, Ayorinde Faboro, more popularly known as Dr Frabz, passed away in his home in Maryland, United States of America where he lived. . . . He was 35 when he died.
2. Ada Jesus:
The entertainer, 24, whose real name is Mmesoma Mercy Obi, breathed her last on Wednesday at an Abuja- based hospital after a protracted battle with kidney disease.
3. Folake Aremu ‘ Orisabunmi’ :
Yoruba actor, Folake Aremu, popularly known as Orisabunmi. She died at the age of 60. The Kwara born actress dies four months after the death of her ex- husband, Jimoh Aliu, who was popularly known as Aworo.
4. David Mela:
On January 13, 2021, He died after suffering from an unknown ailment. According to reports, the actor died on Monday night after he complained of body pains around 12pm on Saturday.
5. Ernest Asuzu:
best known for playing criminal and bad boy roles in the 90s, died Tuesday in Lagos. He was 37. He was one of the most beloved Nollywood personalities of the modern era.
6. Sadiq Daba:
He gave up his ghost after losing a battle to leukaemia and prostate cancer. His death was confirmed by filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, with whom he recently worked with on the 2020 motion picture, Citation.
7. Lambert Dike:
Dike who died on Friday, March 5, passed on a few days to his birthday, as he would have turned a year older on Saturday, March 13.
He amiable movie star battled a brief health challenge and left Lagos for his village in Imo State during the last quarter of 2020. Unfortunately, Dike did not recover from the sickness he was before he passed on.
8. DJ Babus:
According to news making rounds, it was reported that the DJ died from COVID- 19 complications. He died in the early hours of Friday, Jan. 29, 2021. Before his demise, he had a decade of experience in the entertainment industry which saw him operate as a DJ, producer, song writer, talent manager, sound engineer and sound designer for TV & film.
9. Jim Lawson Maduike:
According to reports, the veteran actor slept and didn’ t wake up the following morning. However, another report claims that the Imo state thespian allegedly died after complaining of body pains at around 12 pm today, Saturday, January 9.
10. Bruno Iwuoha:
Early this month, Bruno reportedly passed away on Saturday morning after battling with diabetes and glaucoma. His death was confirmed by close associate and filmmaker, Derik Zai. He disclosed that the actor died on Saturday morning at Abuja National Hospital
