Thank you PHCN from Bariga (Bariga-America)

Thank you PHCN from Bariga (Bariga-America)

Do you know that a place in Lagos, Bariga to be precise, the residents of that vicinity are presently living in an uncivilized mindset, which is ‘accepting abnormality as normality’: This is as a result of excitement and anxiety in which the people feel.

Meanwhile, probably due to the Season’s Spirit of the Yuletide Celebration, the ‘power supply’ in Bariga has not gone off for two weeks now or even more than. Wow! The people are very excited that some even had the enthusiasm of almost going for a Thanksgiving celebration because it is a thing of oddity.

There is nothing as beautiful and exciting as being able to predict precisely when power would be restored or absorbed, it gives one enough confidence and it lessens the stressful preparation for Plan B (the generator).

While the anxiety is that for power to have lasted for more than two weeks without interruption, and if then it eventually goes off, the chances of it being restored in the next 10 to 20 days is not certain because they(power holders) might want to subtract to make balance the days in which the power had been on. Funny right?

Well, yes, it is, this is the odd mindset in which the people (Bariga) have been made to understand and now live with ; ‘accepting abnormality as normality’.

Meanwhile, now can not be equivalent as then, when there was high level of ‘epileptic power supply’. Imagine these scenarios whereby power was on but a man still sends his son to buy petrol, or power was also on but a woman just adamantly refused to turn off her generator even when notified severally by her neighbours. This was because these people has lost trust in their country’s power supply, which is also now unceasingly increasing to hate of one’s fatherland (Nigeria).

Nevertheless, with this sudden realisation that one this country’s most necessities which must be satisfied is power supply. So, it should remain so and not to be a thing of camouflage or a deceit for the ever patriotic citizens not to die in hope that their country would be better one day. I wonder what would be their fate in electricity on January 1st, 2020, hence the Yuletide celebration is over.

Furthermore, regardless of what the actual aim of the power holders may be, for this deliberate act which made the people smile and rejoice, I say a very huge thank you the government as a whole and to our able leader most especially, President Mohammadu Buhari.
