THE SO-CALLED COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY APGA STAKEHOLDERS MEETING IN OWERRI

I have never in all my life seen a thing as ludicrous and preposterous as the gathering of some political misfits, desperadoes, opportunists and impostors in Peter Ezeobi’s house in Owerri on Thursday (9th May)from where they issued a vexatious and stupid communique without the courage to list their names.

I went through the concocted communique carefully and could not make anything out it. It lacked depth and organisation.

I was thrown into boisterous laughter when I saw the photographs of those that attended the shameful meeting. They were all persons who had either been suspended or sacked by APGA.

I saw one Terry Godfrey, a former member of APGA NWC sacked alongside the late Ozo Nwabueze Okafor and four others by NEC of the party at its meeting in Awka on December 21, 2016; Owelle Mbaso, suspended by his Anambra State Chapter for anti-party activities; Ikechukwu Chukwunyere, former National Youth Leader of APGA who is out of tune with happenings in the party and was among those that engaged in untoward activities that led to the crisis that rocked the party after the primary; and Peter Ezeobi (the host) who was recently suspended by the Imo State Chapter of APGA as its chairman.

So, under what or whose authority did they meet to issue the so-called communique?

Sincerely speaking, I would not want to address any of the issues they raised because they were not the fit and proper persons to speak on behalf of Imo State Stakeholders.

Again, they lacked locus standi to make any suggestions or issue any threats on behalf of the party since they have lost their membership of the party, even though temporarily.

My advice to those fighting against the leadership of the party is for them to tow the line of reasoning and save themselves from further embarrassment. No one person can fight the party and win. Those that tried it in the past had awry stories to tell.

We should allow the present leadership of the party run out their programmes for the party. It is only after that that we can either criticise or commend them.

For now, let us get ready for our NEC meeting, congresses and National Convention holding in Awka.

God will see us through.

Hon John Iwuala
Act State Chairman
APGA, Imo State.
