Theater Practitioners say no to “Soapy Dance” – Naira Marley

The Theater Practitioners in Dance Profession of Nigeria have disclaimed the new viral dance style called “Soapy” by Naira Marley saying it promotes masturbation and rape.

 

The song “Soapy” was released by Naira Marley few weeks after encounter with EFCC. This led to clash with Nigerian dance icon, Kaffy, who said basically what Marley is promoting wrong things but the later reacted with a major knock out, saying the fore is old school and no longer the queen of dance.

 

The Professional Dancers are saying this song is “distasteful, uncreative and encourages immorality and sexual predition, in a statement.


TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

WE, AS THEATRE PRACTITIONERS IN DANCE PROFESSION, COLLECTIVELY AND WITH ONE VOICE DISCLAIM AND DENOUNCE THE NOW TRENDING ‘SOAPY DANCE’ BEING PROMOTED BY THE SINGER CALLED NAIRA MARLEY.

 

THE DANCE STYLE IS DISTASTEFUL, UNCREATIVE AND ENCOURAGES IMMORALITY AND SEXUAL PREDATION.

 

INDIVIDUALS WHO ENGAGE IN ITS PERFORMANCE PUBLICLY OR OTHERWISE AND UPLOAD THEIR VIDEOS IN RESPONSE TO THE ‘SOAPY DANCE CHALLENGE’ ARE NOT PRACTICING PROFESSIONAL DANCERS AND THEREFORE DO SO ON THEIR OWN ACCORD / RISK.

WE SAY NO TO RAPE!

 

More so, like every other viral dance which end up affecting the major religions in the country, a white garment church member have been spotted doing the dance during service.

 

The Soapy Dance involves a person holding manhood or putting hands between thighs, lifting the heels and jumping from left to right, basically.
