Tinubu rejected candidature of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu

Efforts by the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to deny Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki return ticket hit the rock during the weekend as Asiwaju Bola Tinubu rejected candidature of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Tinubu, the APC National Leader reportedly sticks with the incumbent governor after intervention of Progressive Governors.

Reliable sources at the all night meeting stated Governor Obaseki will be given return ticket in the interest of peace and collective good of APC.

According to Chief Tunde Olagbunsi, “Tinubu has directed Oshiomhole to look out for another Aspirant with an unblemished record that should slug it out with the incumbent Governor of Edo State in order not to lose the election and drawn APC in the State.

“The challenge we are having at the moment is that it will be very difficult to sell Ize-Iyamu Candidacy to other leaders of the party because of the verbal exchanges between him and Oshiomhole in the past”, he declared.

He said the difficulty in supporting an aspirant that is neither consistent nor reliable against the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki who is also seeking re-election on the APC platform, will be disastrous for the party ahead of the September 19, 2020 Governorship election.

The former governor of Lagos State however advised Obaseki and his camp to unite all the warring groups in order to ensure party’s victory at the main election.

APC has slated June 22 for the primary election and pegged nomination form at N22.5million.
