She said: “I no wan suffer with anybody. I want to try out marriage, I will try out marriage but I never want to suffer with anybody. I don’t want to start from the beginning with anybody because I’ve done that in the past.

“I think some women don’t get to where they want because they don’t see the standard of the people that they need or they deserve in their life.

“No be say I no fit keep man, are you the standard of a man that should be in my life? Do you deserve to be here? Na man wey deserve to stay na im dem dey keep.”

The actress also said she has quit the entertainment industry completely and that she would only support the industry if her party wins the governorship election in Rivers.

When asked if she has completely retired from acting, the mother of one said, “I don’t like movies like that again and it’s been a long time since I acted on screen, you know.

“I’ve acted in about two films in 10 years, I appreciate that my path started from Nollywood, it is something that I respect, but it’s not something that has been in my life.

“So even after the election, it’s not something I’ll return to, but I’ll love to contribute to the industry when I get into power,” Tonto said.

Tonto Dikeh admitted that she had been controversial all along, but blamed the media for it due to their reports.

“I have been doing politics through the organisation I have been working for, the Federal Government, the Committee of Youth Sensitization and Mobilization.

“The office works directly with the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Policies and Decision making.

“It is not my fault to say I did not start to play politics from state level, I started from federal level, I will not take it for granted,” she said.

She went ahead to commend her colleagues, Funke Akindele and Banky W for their courage and participation in politics.

“It is not easy for Funke and Banky W at their level to put themselves out there to effect change because criticisms and so many things are involved.
