The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), says it will continue to explore innovative avenue and technology, to further enhance effective communication of its operations on traffic management related issues, for the safety of lives and property of the people.

The TRACE Corps Commander and Chief Executive Officer, Olaseni Ogunyemi said this while playing host to the Director of Information, Planning, Research and Statistics, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Lanre Ogunyinka in his office at Ibara, Abeokuta.

Commander Ogunyemi, in a statement signed by his Press Officer, Mrs. Temitope Akinbola noted that his officers have been proactive in ensuring that roads across the State are free from accidents and crashes, appreciating the Ministry for its support in the dissemination of information to the publics.

Speaking thereafter at a lecture titled: ‘Effective Communication in Traffic Management in Ogun Corridor’ organised by the TRACE Corps Management at the TRACE headquarters in Abeokuta, Mr. Ogunyinka said effective communication is an important tool for communicating with the motoring public by the traffic officers, noting that discharging their responsibilities diligently would go a long way in projecting the good image of government.

“Effective communication is all about sharing ideas and information, you must also be highly sensitive to messages around you either consciously or unconsciously. In fact, communication is something that you do throughout life time”, he said.

Ogunyinka noted that irrespective of the backgrounds the officers are operating from, their communication strategies should be strengthened, so that the process of maintaining traffic on the road would be gradually embedded in the culture system and consciousness of road users, commending TRACE for its selfless service.

In his contribution, the Director of Legal Services of TRACE, Barr. Abdul-Azeez Ajidele urged officers to desist from chasing offenders, but rather look for means of identification to apprehend them, noting that officers should neither abuse nor assault offenders.

Also speaking, the Director of Administration and Supplies of the Corps, Mr. Oladipupo Olajide, appreciated the Area Commanders, Divisional Commanders and Unit Commanders, charging them to leave a good legacy for their subordinates to emulate, and be up and doing in their line of duties.
