Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been awarded a Democratic Icon award – The APC national leader was recognised among other distinguished Nigerians – Others who were honoured at the event includes CBN governor, Godwin Emiefele and Governor Bagudu Atiku Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emiefele leads a host of other awardees at the maiden edition of AljazirahNigeria Good Governance Award as the Man of the Year.

 

 

Others who were honoured at the event includes All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who won the Democratic Icon award. Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai won the Symbol of National Security award while Governor Abubakar Bagudu Atiku of Kebbi state won Governor of the Year, North-west region.

 

The award recognises governors and legislators from each of the six geo-political zones, brand, company, administrator, public servant and Federal agencies and Institutions of the year. President Buhari to confer award on JAMB registrar, gives reason “As a media house, we are not only about writing about the ills of society, but we also let the world know those who do well,” chairman of the award committee, Abdulgafar Yousef Badawi said in a short statement.

 

 

“We decided to go round each of the geo-political zones because in each of the six zones, there are governors and legislators who have written their names in gold. “From the Man of the Year, to the Democratic Icon of the year, to the Symbol of National Security, to the Young Person of the year, and all the brands and companies and individuals, our award committee painstakingly looked at the activities of the host of awardees nominated by an independent poll, before we come up by with the winners,” Badawi added. Meanwhile, supporters of Tinubu have continued their campaign for him on social media ahead of 2023.

 

 

The supporters of the former Lagos state governor have been vociferous on social media in recent times. Already, supporters of Bola Tinubu have stormed Akure, the Ondo state capital to solicit the support of the people of the state as they continue their Tinubu-for-president campaign ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

 

 

The supporters of the former Lagos state governor, are made up of politicians and non-politicians from all the 18 local government areas of the state.

 

 

They are operating under the political platform known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Network Vision which was inaugurated in the state on Monday, October 28.

 

The group declared that Tinubu is the best person to lead the country, describing him as a political strategist and grassroots mobiliser.
