UNIBEN to release new School Fee Payment deadline – Dean

The University of Benin (UNIBEN), based on ‘fear’ of students caused by Coroavirus Pandemic, said it will release new date for School Fee Payment Deadline.

Through its Dean of students, the management of UNIBEN says it would release a new date at the appropriate time.

I have seen posts flying round from some individuals and Social Media publicist who somehow (directly or indirectly) tagged my previous update about the UNIBEN School Fee Payment deadline as False or Not true. I stand to say that my update was 100% Correct and did not in anyway try to mislead Uniben Students. It is clearly written in line with UNIBEN calendar that the deadline for School Fee Payment is 3rd May 2020, and I deemed it fit to remind Uniben students.

 

Whether changes were made or would be made was never stated officially nor made known to the public by the University Management (which kept Uniben Students worried) not until I released the reminder update which prompted the University Management through the Dean of Student to clear the air by stating that the Management would release a new deadline.

 

I must commend the Dean of Student who Immediately put a phonecall across to me and discussed why the management had been silent on the issue and furthermore stated that the Management would release a new date at the appropriate time, after which I immediately released another update saying that my previous post about the deadline for School Fee Payment has been modified and that a new deadline would be released as at when due.

For authenticity sake the Dean of students later released an update and cited my first update (which is normal so as to clarify Students) stating that the specified deadline on the update was no longer valid due to the fact that the University Management intend releasing a new deadline.

 

The point of the Dean of Student was very clear in stating that the University Management will release a new Date, which automatically makes the earlier stipulated date invalid. This should not be further misunderstood or misinterpreted by Students to say that the Dean meant that the earlier update on the deadline or the person who posted it was FAKE or FALSE, NO! (Because the deadline is clearly written in line with the University Calendar) rather, he only meant that the stipulated deadline was no longer valid since the management will be making an adjustment on the deadline.

 

I want to further state that Students should not misinterpret what the Dean of Student said as he has specifically explained to me the reason for his update and approach and has said it should not be misinterpreted as trying to disdain the name or defame the Character of the publisher but rather for citation and clarification purpose.

Social Media Publicist should therefore take note and not misinterpret the Dean of Student or try to make Students see the name mentioned in the Dean of Students Update as a liar or scammer. I and my team are committed to giving accurate information, and so Social Media publicist should not make mountain out of a mould hill.

 

I apologise for whatever inconveniences the update might have caused and I must also state here categorically that the update in the long run has made the Management reveal to Students her plans to adjust the School Fee Payment deadline and has therefore relieved Students from their suspense for without the update, probably Uniben Students would still be on suspense, not knowing what to do. Directly or indirectly the update made the Management answer and tackle the fear of the deadline that has been in Students heart.

Just as the Dean of Student said, “We are grateful to God that we have not recorded any casualty among Uniben students to COVID-19. I, therefore, urge you all to continue to stay safe in this trying time”.
