Unknown gunmen attacked Hilltop Hotel in the Federal City Capital, Abuja. Seven people were kidnapped during this operation.

 

According to the news gotten from source, this incident happened around on Wednesday, 24 the of June , 2021  and as at around 10; 30pm.

The hotel is located in Tunga Maje, a town on the outskirts of the nation’s capital. The town is about 10 kilometres away from the usually populated Zuba area.

 

Daily Trust reported that the gunmen stormed the hotel when Prince Adejo, its owner, was having a meeting with some people.

 

Adejo and six other people were whisked away amid gunshots.

 

 

A resident was quoted as saying that the kidnappers who were ten in number shot in the air to scare away those present in the area away.

 

Mariam Yusuf, spokesperson of the FCT police command, confirmed the incident and said that an operation has been launched to rescue those abducted.

 

“The command has launched a strategic operation to rescue the victims unhurt,” she said.

 

There has been a spike in the number of abductions in Tunga Maje and other remote towns in the FCT.
