Various allegations have been placed on some people as fire destroys goods worth millions of naira in Kebbi State Central Market on Friday, 25th March, 2015.

The first allegation, according to source, some people who engaged in selling fuel and diesel in one of the shops in the market, may have caused the inferno as the fire started from that section.

Another says it could be cultists renewing their covenant in their various groups because the fire skipped most rich men shops and continued burning all others.

The fire started around 4am and finally extinguished by fire fighters around 12:40pm, lasting for about twelve hours.

Traders watched helplessly as their goods and shops worth millions of naira were destroyed by the fire while those that couldn’t handle it fainted at glance and were rushed to general hospital.

The police and others arrived the scene of incident few minutes after fire fighters started to combat the fire.

Finally, case of theft was figured as people helping victims ran away with the properties.
