Gov. Hope Uzodinma has revealed his stand with his people on Igbo Presidency.

There has been an increase in agitation for Igbo presidency in Nigeria. Many politicians in the southeast have allegedly approached many strong politicians in the country ahead of the 2023 election. While many political parties have not concluded plans to zone their party presidential ticket to southeast, some Igbo leaders are of the mindset that their region is next in line to produce Nigeria’ s next president.

"WE DON'T WANT IGBO PRESIDENT IN 2023" - Gov. Uzodinma reveals

On Friday, Ohanaeze Ndigbo hinted that southeast politicians to seek Bola Tinubu’ s help if the region is determined to rule in 2023. While it is impossible for a single region to produce a president in the country, Ohanaeze Ndigbo urged Igbo politicians to seek the support of southwest politicians ahead of 2023 presidential election. If all southern residents come together to support an Igbo president in 2033, Ohanaeze believes that Igbo would produce a president in 2023.

Also, the Ebonyi state governor had earlier stated that southeast politicians should produce a president in 2023. Umahi clearly stated that he would be pained if Igbo is unable to produce a president in 2023. But reacting to Governor Umahi’ s statement, hope Uzodimma stated that ” Nigeria does not need Igbo presidency in 2023″ . However, he stated that what Nigeria needs in 2033 is a president for the entire country and not for a single region.

During a live interview on channels television on Friday, Governor Hope Uzodimma said ” APC is not interested in Igbo presidency. We are not interested in Igbo president in 2023. What the country needs is a president of Nigeria and not an Igbo president. APC has not made any preparation in regards to the 2023 presidential election, APC has not zoned it the presidential ticket to any region. ”

” Politicians must not play partisan politics. As a party member, we are looking for a plan that would be in the interest of all party members and not a region. All party members must put the interest of the party first because it is the only thing that matters. ”
