We Have Run A Good Race – Doyin Okupe

The former Director-General of Peter Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Doyin Okupe, has lamented the Labour Party’s loss in the Saturday February 25, 2023 presidential election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Wednesday announced the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the presidential election.
According to the election results declared by the INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, was declared the president-elect after scoring 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Reacting to the outcome of the election, Okupe said the Labour Party had run a good race, fought a good fight but disappointment and gloom seemed to loom as tears filled his eyes.
