What Femi Fani-Kayode said that is burning Lagos

Former aviation Minister and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode have called on Yorubas to defend Lagos state from foreigners (Igbos) by giving incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu compulsory vote come Saturday 11th.

Lagos state went up in flames on Wednesday, 8th March following Mr Fani-Kayode’s Tuesday 7th statement, couple with other ‘defensive-tribalistic’ statements from some Yoruba’s accross the country and state, who are afraid of ‘the fruits of their labour’.

Lagos, a metropolitan state in Nigeria comprise almost all major tribes in the country including Igbo, Hausa, Calabar, Ibibio, etc. But the tribal war has been pointed to the Igbo’s because of the son of a Lagosians.

Over 40years ago, a Lagosian and true son of Yorùbá land, Barrister Olawale Rhodes-Vivour fell in love and married Mrs Nkechi Rhodes-Vivour; they were blessed with a son called Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour – this Mr Fani-Kayode and some other key Yoruba’s have termed a terrible mistake.

For the sake of tribalism, they have called him a bastard, an IPOB apologist, an Igbo boy; everything possible just to destroy him and the Labour Party.

They have ignored

  • his father;
  • his uncle, a former justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria & jurist, Bode Rhodes-Vivour,

  • grandfather, late Judge Akinwunmi Rhodes-Vivour, and

  • great-grandfather, Steven Bankole Rhodes; the second ever indigenous judge appointed in Nigeria;

 to focus on his mother and his wife and of course their tribe, the Igbo – this is currently burning Lagos State.

They have also ignored his deputy candidate, their daughter, Crown Princess Abiodun Islamiat Oyefusi, the daughter of the late Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Salahudeen Oyefusi, all because of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

On Tuesday, GBETU got exclusive reports of Yorùbá in Ikorodu, Bariga, Mushin, and other parts of Lagos, specifically asking people if they are Igbo or not – like a genocide cooking.

On Wednesday, some special political thugs went burning down Akere spare parts market in the Apapa Ajegunle area of Lagos State.

According to SaharaReporters the hoodlums stormed the market around 2am on Wednesday and shot a security guard and two other persons before razing down the market’s facilities.

In a video captured at the scene of the incident which was obtained by SaharaReporters, a man privy to the incident said, “A security man and two other guys were shot dead and they have gone to bury them immediately.”

An official of the Red Cross at the scene also confirmed that the market was burned down but he did not provide further information on who was responsible.

Reacting to the incident, an online user, identified as Frazee, said, “Akere spare parts market olodi Apapa is not so big because it’s in a residential area. So you have about two to three Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) members guarding the market at night. Igbos have become a target this period.

“Politicians are really using brainwashed people to forment trouble. Burning people’s means of livelihood just because of a stupid agenda is the lowest. In less than four months, the market will stand again, the people are so cooperative and financially strong.”

“So it is just one security man that secures such a market? The Igbos in Lagos need to be more vigilant and security awake. The enemies of good governance are not going to be taking things easy with them. This is a fight they must win. If they don’t successfully dislodge Lagos from the grip of these evil cartels come next gubernatorial poll, they will all be doomed,” another man, Pierocash added.

Unfortunately, many mainstream media houses have reported this incident as fire outbreak.

Goods worth millions of naira have been destroyed in a fire incident that occurred at Akere Spare Parts Market, Ajegunle in the Apapa area of Lagos State.

The Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret, in a statement on Wednesday, confirmed that the fire started at about 3:28 am, adding that the Ajegunle Fire Station was the first respondent.

Part of the statement read, “Upon arrival, it was discovered that rows of shops that traded in auto spare parts were well alight that led to Sari-Iganmu and Ilupeju Fire Crews of the Agency joining up to subdued the raging Fire and salvage a nearby major market Petroleum Filling Station with a fully loaded 33,000 liters PMS tanker amongst other adjoining buildings.

“However, a male adult was recovered by the Tolu Police Division of the Nigerian Police around the scene while the Lagos Neighborhood and Safety Corps and the Red Cross were also in attendance.”

Adeseye added that the cause of the fire would require an investigation to account for the number of lockup shops and wares lost.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed to PUNCH that the deceased was shot dead.

He said, “A 65-year-old security guard in the market was shot dead. We have identified him and his corpse has been taken to the mortuary. An investigation is ongoing.”

Now what did respected elder like Femi Fani-Kayode say;

“I make no apology for saying the following.

Lagos is NOT no-man’s land. It belongs to the Yoruba. Other than winning the Presidency, the most important thing for the Yoruba to do today is to ensure that Babajide Sanwo-Olu is re-elected as Governor of Lagos state.

Outside of that we are finished as a race and as a people.

The Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, whose mother and wife are Igbo and who is running a patently anti-Yoruba and pro-Igbo campaign, is one of those that burnt properties and buses during the Endsars riots.

He is also in bed with IPOB and is hell bent on imposing an unashamedly Igbo agenda on the people of Lagos state including removing all our Yoruba traditional rulers and imposing Igbo ones.

Would the Igbo allow any Yoruba man to do such a thing in the east?

Our liberalism and willingness to accommodate others has become our biggest albatross.

We gave them land, food and shelter and now they want to take everything from us and rule over us.

They have even infiltrated our Churches and introduced a brand of religious intolerance which is alien to us.

They want to deny us that which our forefathers built, fought and died for and they want to decimate our identity and redefine who we are!

Please take this very seriously and take note that it is beyond politics.

Lagos is for Lagosians and Lagosians are YORUBA!

We welcome visitors and strangers with love, kindness and open arms because that is our nature but we will never let them rule over us in our fathers land, take our land and territory and deprive us of our patrimony, heritage and ancestry.

Anything short of this would be an abomination and would attract the wrath and curse of God.

We know who we are and we know what is ours. Nothing and nobody will take that from us.

It is time to reclaim Lagos and the first step to doing that is to vote for Jide in the Governorship election on Saturday.

I call on all sons and daughters of the West and all true friends of Lagos and the West to come out and vote for Jide and the APC on that day.

The Real Cause

But the real fear here is Labour Party – a party that is hell bent on making the youths of Nigeria leaders of tomorrow.

Amassing six million votes in six months and breaking the chains of Lagos godfatherism and 22years of fake unbreakable winning by any other political party is the fear.

The Labour Party is a revolution party consisting of Nigerian youths of all tribes, and older people who want to help correct old mistakes; and interestingly led by very intelligent unflinching Yoruba youths. It only became more organized during the presidential election as led by Peter Obi.

What did Obi do differently – he listened and agreed with Nigerian youths. He confirmed to them that they were not mad.

The Labour Party has just one goal – a tsunami that will wipe madness away from Nigeria and make Youths the leaders of tomorrow.

It’s an issue in all 36 state and we have seen governors sweating it out. It’s not different from Lagos.

What Femi Fani-Kayode said that is burning Lagos

Question many are asking, if APC Lagos have been doing well; if Babajide Sanwo-Olu have been an outstanding governor like they say, why the jittery. Why can’t they sit down and let their good work pay off?

Also, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode have children by an Igbo woman, would it be fair if Yorubas reject them in all Yorubaland?
