Why are some teachers so strict and never smile, that depresses me😪?

Not all teachers are good at classroom management, and classroom management is tough! It takes skills difficult to build a friendly classroom atmosphere, even allowing the students to laugh with a joke or two, but restoring order when needed.

 

Some teachers don’t know how to do this, and feel that the only way to have control over the classroom if they are strict and never smile.

Indeed, if they don’t know how to regain attention once the classroom descends into chaos, it’s better not to risk it at all!

 

If you have a teacher that never smiles, don’t take it personally. The teacher is doing the best within his/her ability to teach.
