Yerima Abdullahi, a former Minister of Education, has said that millions of Nigerians will miss President Muhammadu Buhari at the end of his administration in 2023.
Abdullahi explained that Nigerians would miss Buhari because he is a man of integrity and has done well for Nigeria.
The former minister, who spoke during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, said leaders like Buhari are rare.
Abdullahi noted that most Nigerian leaders lacked the leadership qualities Buhari possessed, especially his hard stand against corruption and his exemplary lifestyle.
According to Abdullahi, Buhari has been through a lot while trying to serve Nigerians.
He said: “Buhari will be missed after 2023, and there are millions of Nigerians who will because when he says it is white, it is white.
“Like him or not, you have to accept that Buhari has really done well for the country and has been through a lot to serve the nation.
“You don’t have so many of such leaders in the country. He is not a ‘Maradona’, he is not. He says things the way they are. It is very rare you find a leader with such courage.”
