A lesbian identified as Amara, have urged pastors to stop rejecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQs) in their churches.
Amara disclosed that she has commenced on a project advocating to church pastors to preach against rejection of LGBTQs in the society.
According to her, queers are being beaten and assaulted by their families, advocating it should come to an end.
She wrote: “I’m working on a project that involves speaking with pastors about the rejection queer people face from their families and the church and how the church can direct the love they preach into helping to bridge the gap between parents and their queer babies.
“Parents disowning their queer babies and sending them off into hostile streets to be harassed and killed has to stop and I think the church can help. Queer people being beaten and assaulted by their families needs to stop and I think the church can help because if there’s anything my experience with my mother has taught me is that these parents listen to their pastors, their church leaders.
“The challenge I’m currently facing with this project is response. I’ve emailed some churches and nobody has responded. I’m not a church goer myself and I don’t know how to go about getting these pastors to talk with me. So please, I need your help. If you’re a member of a kind church and you think you can help get your pastor to speak with me, please come into my dms. Thank you so much as I await kind responses.”
