Why you should Stop telling Youths to Participate in Politics

Aisha Yesufu, a Nigerian activist have urged elders and youths to stop telling or trying to convince youths on why they should participate in politics.

In a lengthy statement, the #EndSARS and Bring Back Our Girls frontier said no election can be won without youths so its left for them to decide where they want to be – the leader or appointees.

She says;

“Stop telling youth to participate in politics. They are the largest participants! No election can be won without them.

What the youth haven’t realised is the power they have. They are waiting to be given appointments when they can be the ones giving the appointments! Mindset!

During the 2019 election many youth declared to run for public. Guess the parties that youth couldn’t emerge from? APC and PDP!

Instead of the youth in the parties to band up and demand their contemporaries be given the tickets they were busy licking you know what!

Instead of the youth of APC and PDP to come together and work out a strategy to checkmate the old retirees that are using their heads they are busy fighting each other and calling themselves curses!

Atiku, Buhari, Jonathan and Tunubu are buddies. Keep fighting over 2015!

Why you should Stop telling Youths to Participate in Politics

The good, the bad and the ugly being done during election are done by the youth but when the election is won, the youth are ignored and made to fight each other for photo ops that can be shared on twitter.
When will they free themselves?

Imagine the youth of APC and PDP come together and give ultimatum to both parties: UNLESS 50% of the legislative seats are given to competent youth( men and women ) they will not support them for executive elections!

You think the monies are the structures? No! The people are!

Who are the ones preparing most speeches? Youth
Who are the ones preparing most documents? Youth
Who are the ones operating social media accounts? Youth
Who are the ones used as thugs? Youth
Who are the ones all year round politicking? Youth
They already participate in politics

Who are the ones that have kept enmity since 2015? Youth
Who have insulted others the most because of Politics? Youth
Who are the ones using money and time to defend parties and keep them visible? Youth.
Those who have chilling in Dubai and London will come and carry power

Who are the ones jumping up and down to defend the mess of government, political parties and political leaders? Youth!

The Nigerian youth have been participating in politics. They just haven’t realised they can be players not just supporters!” She concludes.
