X-Pression Sensitizes Over 1,000 women work force on Breast Cancer

Every year, breast cancer kills more than 600,000 women around the world. In resource-poor settings, the majority of women with breast cancer are diagnosed at an advanced stage of disease, resulting in low survival rates.

In a global effort to raise awareness on breast cancer, October is designated as the Pink Month where efforts are made to educate women about the disease, including early identification, signs and symptoms associated with breast cancer.

To commemorate 2022 Pink Month, Solpia Nigeria Limited (the Manufacturers of X-Pression Hair Extension) in partnership with Healthy Woman Initiative organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Day for over 3,000 women staff members of the company.

X-Pression Sensitizes Over 1,000 women work force on Breast Cancer

According to the Digital Marketing and Communication Lead, Azeez Olalekan, ‘this Breast Cancer Awareness Day is the first of many as there is a significant importance in continually sensitizing women on causes, effects and management of the deadly disease.’

The Awareness program took place in two batches at the event auditorium at the Administrative Block of the company, with a welcome address and opening remark from the Assistant Manager Mr Okey and the Marketing Manager Madam Grace respectively. Then, Yusuf Koather from Healthy Woman Initiative took over and kick started the sensitization session.

The over 1,000 women in attendance received an intensive lecture and training on how to perform a self-breast examination procedure to detect for any lump/signs of early cancer.

Together we can kick this deadly disease and make the world cancer free.
