YABATECH: 2020 AGENDA OF STABILIZING THE ACADEMIC CALENDAR MUST NOT FAIL – KILIMAJAROO PLEADS WITH RECTOR

It is with a sincere heart that I write you this open letter that your administration is making so much land mark progress and delivering your proposed agenda for the college. Sir,even a blind man knows that Yaba College of Technology is going through a progressive paradigm shift. The progress that you have made is so unbelieveable and your courage is what I envy. Close to 80% of your agenda for the college are almost done. I salute your determination!

Sir, if we must bring Yabatech to its formal glory as you have wished, then the school calendar must be regulated.

With my findings, its brings me sadness to let you know that for close to 10years now none of our NYSC candidate has been mobilize at the right time as it’s been done in other citadels.

Sir, Yaba College of Technology operate one of the worst academic calendar in sub-sahara Africa.

Since we graduated in December 2018, none of us has been deploy for NYSC, making it the 9th to 10th month.

Sir, a progressive institution is define by the academic calendar its operate. The academic calendar been operated by the college is destroying a lot of lives. If other institution like Auchi, Covenant, Unilag and even Mapoly is achieving a smooth academic calendar with no hitches then why can’t we model after them.

A whole one year wasting. Even if you get a job, you are only one leg in, one leg out. After spending 3years for Part-time ND, 1year I.T, 2years for HND FT, 1year for sitting at home, 1year for service making it 9years(I am in pain!)

This is suicide! I DO NOT WISH THIS FOR MY UNBORN CHILD!

Sir, I was having a quick chat with an alumnus based in the U.K upon discovering that we are yet to be mobilize for NYS , he was shocked.
We all know that the educational system of Nigeria has been bastardized by political shenanigans but we must not apportion blames just like the current government of Nigeria will always blame others for their irresponsibilities.

Sir, my sister that graduated 2009 knows this is an inherited problem. Changing the narrative is the key and if we must get Yabatech to the promise land we must not apportion blame and fix this academic calendar as soon as possible.

Sir, I want to plead with you and I know this is the mind of thousands of students. Fixing the academic calendar should be on the topmost priority and also the 2020 agenda of stabilizing the academic calendar must not fail.

Accept my congratulations on the long awaited Yabatech radio 89.3fm.

God bless you sir!
God bless Yaba College of Technology!
