Yoruba Rally Begins in Lagos State with Ifa Priest and Priestesses leading

The Yoruba Rally scheduled for Saturday, 3rd July has began at the Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota Lagos. Though it didn’t start at 9am as planned.

 

A live video on PUNCH monitored by GBETU, earlier showed police firing shots to dispersed protesters who had started gathering around 11am on Saturday at the Gani Fawehinmi park, they ran for safety due to no leader while the police took advantage of it to fill up their van.

But in what looks like hope minutes later, a white chief cap appeared with several women also on white, walked pass all the security while looking for the right authority to speak with

 

 


“Please understand that we are partners in progress,” the white chief cap said.

 

He also urged the security agencies to join them on making the protest peaceful and successful instead of the show of force like there is war coming.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Hakeem Odumosu, while speaking with newsmen at the venue of the rally for few minutes, said Nigerians have the right to peaceful protests.

 

According to him, the security operatives were deployed to the area to ensure that the protest was not hijacked by hoodlums
