Dissolve Kwara APC now, Gbenga Awoyale tells Mala Buni

Chief Gbenga Awoyale, President-General of Orisun Igbomina, wants Mai Mala Buni, the new Chairman Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), to dissolve that of Kwara State.

Mai Mala Buni has been urged to urgently dissolve the executive council of the party in Kwara State as a measure towards curtailing the lingering crises among the political class.

Chief Gbenga Awoyale, in a congratulatory message to Mala Buni issued on Tuesday said, “At the moment there is no APC in Kwara, rather, what we have is abuse of office which necessitate immediate dissolution.”

According to the statement, “We are pleased to rejoice with you over your appointment as the Chairman Cartaker Committee of our great party at this auspicious period. There is no doubt that your outstanding records and integrity as a staunch party man has once again earned you this task of putting in place a peaceful process that will produce the next leadership of APC.

“We are proud of you and we are ready to support you in ensuring that you achieve more successes for APC in a bid to reposition and salvage our great party ahead and beyond 2023 electioneering process. We wish you all the best and God’s guidance always”.

Chief Awoyale also added that the case of Kwara APC is a peculiar situation that requires urgent attention and immediate dissolution stressing that “The current executive council of the party are saboteurs who are working against the government democratically elected on the platform of APC.”

“The chairman of Kwara APC, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa was not elected,” he continued, “rather, he was put as a caretaker Chairman of the party some years ago but he has tagged himself as untouchable. It is saddened to note that since after the last general elections, the has not been meeting among executive members of the party. No measures was put in place to drive governance and party loyalty in support of the democratically elected Executive Governor of the state, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who was overwhelmingly elected in 2019.

“Kwara APC has been ravaged with series of crises and insubordination which has eventually led to the polarisation and emergence of different interest groups from within the party. The Chairman is not working in support of the government, he is an unrepented critic of the APC government in the state despite the laudable efforts of the governor in term of projects and good governance across the 16 local government areas of the state.

“It is unfortunate that the Kwara APC chairman is clearly playing the cards of opposition party in the state, thereby condemning all the actions and inactions of the current government. It is our belief that we have successfully dymistified Bukola Saraki’s political structure in the state, but with the look of things, much still need to be done.”

“They are causing the governor unnecessary distractions and blackmail through weekly radio which always necessitate Hon. Bolarinwa coming down to Kwara every week. He his not resident in the state, he usually come from Lagos solely for the radio programme and return back to Lagos immediately after the programme.”

The group therefore appealed to Mala Buni to use his good office to rescue Kwara APC from the wilderness of bad leadership which may have adverse effect on good governance in the state.
