Meet the Chefs at the International Drinks Festival 2018 #drinksfestlagos

CULINARY FINESSE AT THE INTERNATIONAL DRINKS FESTIVAL 2018

Food, beverage and liquor pairings are widely acknowledged as art. It is also quite relative in preference as some foods align better with certain types of drinks for certain folks. Traditionally, especially in our part of the world, food and drink pairings have not generated a lot of discussions but with the advent of modernization and increasing health concerns, attention has been drawn to knowing the right food that pairs with drinks and beverages as well as their benefits.


At the International Drinks Festival 2018, scheduled to hold at the prestigious Federal Palace Hotel from 29th November to 2nd December, culinary experts will be taking attendees through master classes on various ways and processes of drinks infusion in food, the kinds of food that go best with wines, beers, spirits, beverages and drinks in general. Guests will enjoy indigenous and intercontinental food and drinks combinations, new drink-infused recipes and learn how to create fine dining experiences in their homes.

Culinary experts expected at the event include; Chef Benedict, Chef Eros, Chef Fregs Chef Yeide and a host of food bloggers and enthusiasts. These experts are renowned for creating innovative, tasty and aesthetically appealing cuisines with the right infusion of drinks as well as offering practical teachings on how to recreate these meals to suit individual preferences.

Meet the Culinary Experts

Chef Fregz
Chef Gbubemi Fregene popularly known as Chef Fregz is one of the premium and most recognized Chefs in Nigeria with his affiliations and experience as a Private Chef, food columnist and connoisseur and as a Knorr Taste Quest Judge. He earned a diploma in cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute, Paris and later, worked at the Prestigious Market Restaurant, Paris between November 2010 and February 2011. His goal is to make every meal a truly unique culinary experience.

Chef Benedict
Chef Benedict’s professional culinary journey started towards the end of 2013 when he enrolled in a culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu Firenze (Scuola d’arte Culinaria Italiana), he then worked at Ristorante Vincanto a high end restaurant in the historical Centre of Florence focusing on giving a modern twist to traditional Italian cuisine highly influenced by the region of Puglia. He attended Castalimenti in Brescia where he received a certificate for catering and banqueting management.


Chef Yeide
Chef Yeide is passionate about creative food preparation and presentation. She specializes in intercontinental and West African cuisine with a particular focus on Savoury dishes applying cutting-edge innovations in food gastronomy and food infusions. She holds a degree in Culinary Arts, an Advanced Diploma in Food Preparation and Cookery and a Higher International Diploma at the Westminster Kingsway College Centre, England, United Kingdom.


Chef Eros
Tolu Eros popularly known as Chef Eros earned a BSc. (Honors) degree in International Business Management from the University of Wolverhampton in 2009 and opened his first restaurant, La Saison in the same year at the age of 21. He is the founder and CEO of the Cookie Jar Bakery and Executive Chef of Eros & Gourmet Foods.

Tolu was featured on CNN Africa as the next big thing to watch and was also in Forbes as the man who knows what billionaires eat for lunch. This has earned him the moniker “The Billionaires’ Chef”, some of whom are Chief Mike Adenuga, Founder and Chairman of Globacom and Conoil, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Founder and Chairman of Dangote Group. He has also had the opportunity to serve President Emmanuel Macron of France, Reverend TD Jakes, Lauryn Hill and many others.

The International Drinks Festival 2018 is set to offer participants a total package of learning, networking and fun. Drinks exhibitors will also be giving mini brand tours, discounted sales, games, lots freebies and new product samplings. These and much more are what to look forward to at the festival!
