A Greek proverb says; “Listen to that which is well said even if it is from the mouth of an enemy”. This may look like a nepotistic or sentimental write up, but I want every lover of good governance equity and justice to look into this it with maturity and objectivity.

I want to plead and appeal to all PDP leaders at both National and State levels to consider some critical factors before making any decision as regards choosing the candidate who will represent the party at the forth coming 2020 gubernatorial election in Ondo State. Although, there may not be any law that back zoning formula in selecting party representatives or flag-bearers as far as elections are concerned. But because of fair playing and equity among the three senatorial districts in the state, we need to allow another zone to present the candidate of the party in 2020 poll.

We all know that Ondo south senatorial district has been shortchanged in the rotating formula. Also, as an opposition party will need winning formula. There is more than enough qualified people from Ondo South senatorial district which are capable of winning elections for the party if truly will love and want to be sincere with ourselves.

I want us to take note of this anytime will read this write up, that party wins elections, not candidates…according to the Supreme Court ruling in Kogi governorship election matter between Folake and Bello. And party can only win election when there is fairness, unity and equity. Everybody is defending and agitating for his/her own right. However, also bear in mind that candidates charismatic and credible nature is another critical factor that can determine the success of any political party in an election and that is the cogent reason why we need a CREDIBLE, SELLABLE & GOOD IDEOLOGICAL person as our candidate from the preferring zone that has been shortchanged in the rotating formula.

More importantly, I want to appeal to all PDP leaders in Ondo State to show deep rooted love for the party, as well as see the party and the people as very paramount to them, not working towards their personal gain or interest. We don’t need a season or desperate politicians as our representative come 2020, we only need well articulated, knowledgeable, outspoken and generally accepted person.

Finally, before I drop my golden pen, I want to appreciate all the state excos under the capable leadership of Hon. Faboyede Clement, for sticking with the party throughout the tough and hard time, even when our foremost Leader left to join ZLP, all the excos are still standing “gidigba” with the party. May God almighty continue to enrich and guide each and everyone of you in Jesus mighty name Amen.

Please Sir/Ma, Do what is right and never forget that only with God help we are more than conquerors.
