Victor Gaidom cancels screening, calls back Obaseki

Victor Gaidom cancels screening, calls back Obaseki

The new (another) Acting National Chairman of the APC, Victor Gaidom, has cancelled the governorship screening that made Godwin Obaseki quit the party, calling for a fresh rerun.

Victor Giadom, says he’s now APC Acting Chairman, thereby asks aspirants to reappear as confusion trails court orders over suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as APC National Chairman.

He disclosed this while addressing newsmen at APC National Secretariat, Abuja on Wednesday, also announcing the cancellation of APC Screening for Edo 2020 governorship election and directs all aspirants to report at Party’s National Secretariat for fresh screening.

The Acting APC National Chairman said the fresh screening will hold between Wednesday and Thursday June 17-18, 2020. The party has slated Edo APC Primaries for June 22.

All the six APC aspirants for Edo 2020 governorship election including Governor Godwin Obaseki are expected to report for fresh screening.

If Obaseki would honor the invitation of the party after resigning his membership on Tuesday, is the new dilemma.

Recall that Jonathan Ayuba led APC Screening Committee had on Friday disqualified Edo State Governor and two other aspirants from participating in the primaries.

To buttress, Victor Giadom is now the new acting chairman – making two – Ajimobi

Mr. Giadom explained that he has taken over based on a previous court order empowering him to do so.

According to him, he has the backing of the members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
