The closure comes after the KMA received petitions form the Assemblymember for the area and some other residents over the excessive noise making.

The Public Relations Officer for the KMA Afia Konadu said that besides the excessive noise, there were several continuous physical attacks on residents around the bars.

She also mentioned that the police commander for the area invited the owners of the spots over the attacks but none honoured the invitation.

Ms Konadu said it is alleged that the owners of the spots threatened to kill the assembly member for the area over his complaints about their operations.

The spots will not be allowed to operate until the owners begin to abide by the bylaws of the assembly.

Some residents in the neighbourhood have expressed gratitude to the assemblyman for taking care of the situation swiftly.
