AFCON Semi-final: Soludo congratulates Super Eagles for overcoming Angola

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has once again extended hearty congratulations to Nigeria’s Super Eagles for their remarkable triumph on Friday over Angola in the ongoing 2023 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup (AFCON).

 

A decisive lone goal by Ademola Lookman in the 41st minute secured a well-deserved victory, propelling Nigeria into the AFCON semi-finals.

 

In a riveting clash at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Governor Soludo said “the Super Eagles showcased unparalleled resilience and prowess, solidifying their journey towards AFCON glory.”

He commended the team for their characteristic outstanding performance in the highly contested match

 

As the Super Eagles advance to the semi-finals, Governor Soludo wishes them continued success in their quest for victory.

“May their dedication and skill bring glory to Nigeria as they pursue the coveted AFCON title,” Governor Soludo added.

 

The Super Eagles have qualified for their 16th AFCON semifinals. In the last four, the Eagles will play the winner of Saturday’s clash between South Africa and Cape Verde.

 

Also, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, congratulating the Super Eagles said with the 1-0 victory, which qualifies Nigeria for the semifinals of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, the road to claiming Nigeia’s fourth AFCON trophy is in sight.

Idris commended the fighting spirit of the Super Eagles, saying it was a gladiatorial performance that has gladdened the hearts of Nigerians across the world.

“With a performance like today’s, Nigerians look forward to more outstanding victories in the Super Eagles next matches leading to a befitting victory in the AFCON finals.”

 

The minister also called on Nigerians to continue in their support for the Super Eagles.
