Nigerian singer and Mavins Records former signee Hadiza Blell, better known as Di’Ja, has said she never left the label’s founder Don Jazzy.
The 39-year-old made this known on Monday via the microblogging platform, Twitter in response to a user.
The fan had asked why the singer left Don Jazzy, speculating that Di’Ja would have been bigger than another female artiste, Tems by now.
Replying to the user, the singer wrote “I never left. Kindly know this. Life happens and we are grateful for all the love and happenings. God bless Tems, and I need her to get bigger.”
Di’Ja also shared videos of gifts she received for her birthday including a cake from Mavin.
“Thank you to my family, friends and family at Mavin for my cakes. I must gain weight this year,” the mother of three wrote in another tweet.
Di’Ja joined Mavin Records in February 2014 with the release of a single titled ‘Yaro’. She featured also with other Mavin artistes on songs like ‘Dorobucci’, ‘Adaobi’, ‘Looku Looku’ and ‘Arise’.
Meanwhile, Di’Ja’s revelation about turning 39 has surprised many, as her youthful appearance had led fans to believe she was younger.
The artist took to social media to share a heartfelt message along with a photo to mark the occasion. Di’Ja expressed her gratitude to the Almighty Allah for his blessings and mercy throughout her life. She also extended her appreciation to her husband, family, friends, and supporters for their well wishes on her special day.
In a lighthearted note, she shared her new passport photo, hinting at the need for a renewal.
She wrote: “I turned 39 years old today. I thank the Almighty Allah swt for His mercies on me. My husband, my family, friends and supporters, thank u so much for all the wishes today. Hehe sharing my new passport photo, time for renewal.”
