Lisa Rinna ’s 60th birthday trip may’ve just ended, but she’s not done celebrating. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star gave credit to her body in a nude selfie posted on her Instagram Story, per People—and she thanks Schitt’s Creek’s matriarch Moira Rose for the inspiration.
“Moira Rose says you should take as many naked pics of yourself while you still can and celebrate it,” Rinna captioned the full-body mirror selfie in which heart emojis censored her private anatomy. “OK Moira.” Rinna continued, writing: “HAPPY SUNDAY.”
In a season 2 episode of Schitt’s Creek called “Moira’s Nudes,” Rose, played by Catherine O’ Hara, learns that some scandalous photos from her past have found their way online. Initially, she races to remove them, but she ultimately settles on being glad they exist in the first place.
“Take a thousand, naked pictures of yourself now,” she tells younger Stevie Budd, played by Emily Hampshire. “You may currently think, ‘Oh, I’m too spooky.’ Or, ‘Nobody wants to see these tiny boobies.’ But, believe me, one day you will look at those photos with much kinder eyes and say, ‘Dear God, I was a beautiful thing!’”
She continues: “Oh, and make sure you submit those photos to the internet. Otherwise, your own children will go looking for them one day and, tragically, they won’t be there.”
Clearly, Rinna had no issue following that advice. And this isn’t the first time she has. In May, she posed topless in an editorial photoshoot for ES Magazine, and last year, she joined Paulina Porizkova in sharing a nude selfie to celebrate her age in response to commenters who called them “too old” to share such photos.
“@paulinaporizkov posed in a tiny swimsuit, and they called her old and ugly,” she captioned the post. “I am 1 year older than Paulina. Here’s my ‘old and ugly’ ✨.”
Whether she’s posing nude or stepping out in one of her many head-turning high-fashion looks, Rinna has one underlying mission, and that’s to take people out of their comfort zones. “I love to get in there and make people feel uncomfortable. I’m polarizing,” she told People in April. “I like to make people feel something.”
Most recently, she raised eyebrows by unapologetically posing in full-body black and red latex in a campaign photoshoot for her cosmetics brand, Rinna Beauty. She shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the shoot, simply writing: “I’m not Sorry.”
Why should she be?
The nude mirror selfie coincides with Rinna recently marking a major milestone in her life. On July 11, the star turned 60 years old. She, her husband, Harry Hamlin, and daughters, Amelia Gray and Delilah Belle celebrated during a vacation at the Nobu Los Cabos resort in Mexico.
To mark Rinna’s birthday at the time, Hamlin took to Instagram to share a snap of him and his wife in a tender hug. Meanwhile, younger daughter Amelia shared photos of herself and her mother from over the years, with one of the captions reading: “My best friend ever thank you for being you @lisarinna.”
Additionally, Delilah posted an Instagram pic of her mom donning a black floppy hat, sunglasses and a bikini top with the caption: “It’s Lisas day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA. I love u.”
