Fellow Obidients, Mr. Peter Obi has indeed changed the structure of political engagements in Nigeria. For the first time, we have a presidential candidate who is engaging students in a town hall session. Discussing his plans with them, listening to them and answering questions.
Before now, politicians in Nigeria would rather spend time talking to thugs, hooligans and assassins who they believe can cause mayhem and snatch ballot boxes on election day, instead of engaging with students. Obi has captured the attention of many young people across this country with his style, sincerity and unparalleled humility.
The students whose education was truncated for 8 months now have an opportunity to engage with a presidential candidate. They are asking him questions about strikes, job opportunities, career development and what the future will hold for them under his leadership. This is what we see in other climes. Thanks to Obi, we now have such engagements here. He will have another town hall with students in Rivers state today.
It is now clear to the blind that Obi against all odds has broken through the glass ceiling of the political duopoly we have been used to in Nigeria. Obi’s personality and gravitas has pushed the Labour Party from relative obscurity into national prominence. Today, when you mention the leading candidates, Obi’s name stands out like a shining star.
They are shocked at the turnout in his rallies. The same criminals who tell us that INEC will not count rallies and marches have also started celebrating the same thing they wanted to deride. When they hold their rallies and the crowd is massive, they forget that INEC will not count rallies. But when Obi pulls a massive crowd, their criminal and diabolic memory suddenly comes alive.
Guys, we are almost there. We are on the verge of causing one of the greatest disruptions in global politics. We are about to snatch our country from the hands of blood thirsty marauders and desperate assasins. We will take our future back from the hands of destiny killers and political dinosaurs. We are on the march and no force on earth can stop this storm.
Go out there and get your PVCs!!! We will vote, defend our votes and elect our own president. Don’t let anybody deceive you, the BVAS and electronic transmission of polling unit results will annihilate their criminal structures.
