Moshood Adeoti and his tantrums at Iwo Day

Moshood Adeoti and his tantrums at Iwo Day

At a time when every decent Iwo native was celebrating this year’s Iwo Day, the frustrated Moshood Adeoti and some cretinous creatures were everywhere engaging in macabre dance, claiming to be mocking Ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

Why is Adeoti and his group trying to make a mockery of an important event in Iwo? At the celebrations of the 2021 Iwo Day festival, it was the same Adeoti and his group that exhibited behavior unknown to Iwo people. It’s well known all over the world that Iwo people are decent, virtuous, and highly tolerant of opposing views. Why can’t Adeoti and his group choose another forum to exhibit their ignorance instead of bringing the entire community to witness their naked dance in full glare of all and sundry?

If there is anyone Adeoti should equate himself with in Osun politics, it should not be the upwardly mobile professional and political high-flyer like the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy because they are poles apart. Oyetola is far ahead of Adeoti in every facet of it.

In 2018, when the two of them met in the governorship election, Oyetola obtained 255,505 votes, as against the miserable 49,743 votes garnered by the over-rated Adeoti. Even when my humble self ran for Osun West Senatorial ticket, I obtained 104,459 votes in the 10 local government areas in the senatorial district compared to what Adeoti garnered in the whole of 30 local government areas of the state in 2018.

Again, when the two of them slugged it out in the APC governorship primary in 2022, Oyetola roundly defeated Adeoti. Whereas Oyetola obtained 222,169, representing 94% of the total votes, Adeoti got an unfortunate 12,921 votes.

And to prove that the result posed in the primary election was no fluke, Oyetola went on to get 375,027 votes in the main election, defeating Adeoti’s candidate, Ademola Adeleke, in Iwo, Ayedire, and Olaoluwa Local Government Areas, the supposed stronghold of Adeoti.

If there are people that should be shameful for the misfortune that has befallen them in recent times, it should be Adeoti and other traitors who worked against the interest of APC, the party that brought them to limelight and gave life to them. Despite their treachery, collusion, and debauchery, Oyetola defeated their PDP governorship candidate in Iwo Federal Constituency and Ilesa East, the home of their principal and chief traitor in 2022 Governorship election . We also need to remind Alhaji Adeoti that President Bola Tinubu also defeated Atiku Abubakar his preferred presidential candidate in the 2023 Presidential election in Iwo.
