The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced the birth of twin children (a boy and girl) by one of his wives, Olori Tobiloba.
Taking to social media on Saturday, March 16, 2024, the Ooni posted a picture of him and the new mother, and added the caption, “To God be the glory; great things He has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Tobiloba, who today birthed a prince and princess to the royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and children are doing well to the glory of God Almighty.”
Expressing joy at the news, one of his other wives, Olori Ashley, commented on the post, “Hearty congratulations to us on the throne of our forefathers, to my amazing husband, and my beautiful sister/wife for this amazing addition to our big family. May Olodumare bless our prince and princess. May Olodumare keep my sister/wife safe.”
Another queen, Olori Aishat, wrote, “Congratulations to the royal family.”
Queen Ronke commented as well, writing, “To God be the glory; great things He has done.”
It should be noted that prior to the new addition to the family, Oba Ogunwusi already had two children— a daughter and son.
His first child, Adeola, was a product of his relationship with Omolara Olatubosun while they were teenagers; while his son and crown prince, Tadenikawo, was born by his ex-wife, Naomi.
While the palace has since become a beehive of well wishing activities and visits from far and near in felicitations with the Ife Royal Family, other necessary spiritual rites as a buildup to the formal arrival of the new royal babies to the palace expected to happen very soon have begun as being handled by the Ife Chief Priests otherwise known as The Isoros in conformity with the traditional customs and culture of the Ife Kingdom which is the ancestral home of the Yoruba and several other races around the world.
