Retirement Age: SON Union kicks as Ministries remain adamant

Head of service of the federation for immediate action against ministries not complied with Presidential Directive on age retirement.

Dear Head of Service of the Federation,

We’re writing to express my concern regarding the non-compliance of some ministries with the Presidential Directive on age retirement. As you are aware, the directive stipulates that civil servants who have attained the age of 60 or have served for 35 years, whichever comes first, should be retired from service.

However, it has come to our attention that some ministries are not adhering to this directive, and as a result, there are civil servants who have exceeded the age limit or years of service but are still in active service. This is not only a violation of the directive but also a disservice to the younger generation who are waiting for opportunities to serve their country.

We urge you to take immediate action against these ministries and ensure that they comply with the Presidential Directive on age retirement. This will not only restore the integrity of the civil service but also create opportunities for the younger generation to contribute their quota to the development of our great nation.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

SON UNION
