THE FOUNDATION FOR BUILDING SOLID MẠRRIAGE

The cliché “Marriage is a scam” has been popular among singles lately both online and offline. You see, statements like this has made marriage and the institution of marriage come under attack and has given these youths a wrong mindset about marriage.

Now, in these times and age where marriage and the institution of marriage has come under heavy attacks, it is important we build a proper foundation for a successful marriage. In there times and age where joyful, peaceful, restful, intimate, romantic and sexy marriages have become marriages of abuses, sadness, trumatic, pathetic and ugly, it is very very important that we understand how to build solid foundation for a correct and solid marriage.

And in these times and age where the statistics of failed marriages are on the rise, and on the increase, it is important that you understand how to build solid foundation for a successful marriage.

Now, I am going to state the statistics of failed marriages so that you reading this will buckle up and work on your mariage so that your marriage will not end up like some of these. Couples would double up on their efforts to make their marriage work in face of stormy challenges. And I see God giving you that grace in Jesus name! Amen.

And also as a single, from a single’s standpoint, if you are trying to enter into marriage, by knowing some of these statistics, they will help you to develop of the right mindset and the right capacity so that your marriage will not end up like any of these marriages.

Now these statistics revealed that in the year 2022 alone 14 celebrities divorced in Nigeria. Statistics also revealed that in the your 2022 alone, 22 Celebrities divorced in the US. Again statistics revealed 42-45% of first marriages always end in divorce. Again, we are made to knows that 60% of second mariages end up in divorces.

And 73% of third marriages end up in divorce as well. It was also said that between January 2021 and March 2022, in Nigeria alone 49 husbands and wives killed themselves; 35 lives were killed day their husbands, while 14 husbands were killed by their wives.

Statistics also says that the average length of a first marriage that ends in divorce is 8 years. I have also heard of two to three months marriages ending in divorce. In fact, I just heard that one marriage broke up within 24 hours. They were fighting over the money they gave them at the wedding reception.

The man said, as the higher contributor to the wedding, the lion share must come to him. And the woman protested that, it is not possible because it was the guest she invited that gave them money the most. And from the honey moon in the hotel, their marriage was over. May that not be your portion in Jesus name! Amen.

Furthermore, statistically, it was revealed that the propability for a first marriage ending in divorce or separation in the first five years is 20%. And in 10 years is 30%.

On the average, a person spends 2 years thinking about about divorce before they eventually take the action.

Finally, statistics revealed that in United states there is one divorce approximately every 36 seconds that is it is nearly 2, 400 divorces per day and 16,800 divorces per week and 876,000 divorces in a year. That is alarming, that is shocking. May any of your marriages not be like that.

Now, having said all there, how do we build a solid foundation a successful marriage?

In other to build a solid or proper foundation for a success mạrriage, in addition to all that that we have been discussing, we need to understand what a foundation is.

WHAT IS A FOUNDATION?

From a the dictionary, a foundation is described as anything upon which something is built.

A foundation is that on which anything stands. And a foundation is that on which something is supported. Furthermore, a foundation is the lowest and supporting layer of a super structure. Conclusively, a foundation is the background or basics of a project. 

Now, understand that every building standing must have a foundation Every house (skyscrapers, high-rise buildings and bungalows) you see out there must have a foundation. So the foundation of a building is one of the most important aspect or part of a building. Because without it the building will not stand.

Also, every solid, correct and successful marriage must have a proper foundation. Because proper foundation equal proper marriage, and correct, foundation equal correct marriage.

Conversely, wrong foundation equal wrong marriage and faulty foundation equal faulty marriage Pas. 11:3 Says, “If the foundation be what can the righteous, do?”

It’s still a question no one has been able to another in the Bible.

So when something is wrong with the building the engineers first find out if the problem is not with the foundation. But if they see that the error has to do with the foundation, they ,might probably pull down the whole building. Because without that, the building will collapse.

However, in marriage, it not easy to pull down the whole structure but the foundation of a marriage can be repaired by the Mercies of God. But when couples fail to address and repair the foundation of their marriage, it will soon collapse

Severally, we have heard of cases of building collapse especially in cities like Lagos Nigeria. Most of which may be as a result of the quality the strength of materials used. But to a large extent, when building collapse takes place the first thing the experts will look into is the foundation of the building. For if the foundation is solid, it will last longer than that.

So, if a marriage must last longer to celebrate 50 years of marriage, 60 years of happy married life, it must be founded on a solid ground; it must built on a solid foundation and it must built on the right foundation.

It addition, you must understand that anything that is built in this earth realm must have a foundation. The only thing that is built that does not have a foundation is a grave.

I have never seen where they want to build a grave and they are digging foundation. No! It is only a grave in this earth realm that does not have a foundation.

Any marriage without a solid and correct foundation is most likely going to be like a grave.
