Uloka Chukwubuikem apologizes to Ndigbo over Suzan Ade Coker of RantHQ

Political activist and social commentator, Uloka Chukwubuikem has apologized to Ndigbo for taking sides with RantHQ founder, Suzan Ade Coker, over her “derogatory” statement about Igbo people, which led to multiple defensive response

In his statement, Chukwubuikem talks on how he should never have supported Suzan Coker over Ndigbo.

“No warrior fights his own tribe, religion and PEOPLE regardless of his strength and power,” he exclaims.

“I WAS TOTALLY WRONG,” he says.

Read statement below:

FORGIVE MY NAIVETY AND DEEP IGNORANCE, I WAS WRONG.

….. Some decisions we make, we regret thereafter; nevertheless we are human and not perfect.

A lot has been going on lately regarding my position on the outburst from Lady Suzan Ade Coker of #RantHQ, I don’t think I have the ample time and opportunity to explain my self further or deny my statement, I WAS TOTALLY WRONG.

I wish to use this medium to appeal to everyone who in one way or the other might have been hurt, affected and disappointed, on me taking side with Suzan after her derogatory statement against ndị Igbo.

I am a bona-fide onye Igbo and won’t in any way support or allow anyone berate my tribe in the first place, but in the case of Suzan; I allowed my emotion to come ahead of everything else, which was totally wrong and loathsome.

My father’s were Igbo before Nigeria same as me and every other member(s) of my family; regardless of my humanness, I never expected to be in the position I ignorantly led myself into.

The reaction from friends, family members and associates proved to me that there are people who still cared about me and won’t allow me wallow in my ignorance.

No warrior fights his own tribe, religion and PEOPLE regardless of his strength and power.

The insults and abuses I received was a sign of love and a means of scolding which is the African way of dealing with misdemeanor.

I therefore, by this publish retract my words in support of Suzan Ade Coker and equally ask for your forgiveness.

Those who were in support of me and played a role in defending me, I appreciate, others who thought me a traitor, I apologies, the ones who left my friend list and promised not to have anything to do with me, remember we are all have our flaws and not perfect either, I hope this meets you well and heal the injury my reaction may have inflicted on you.

I have nothing to regret, most times we make mistakes to learn from the experience – this has opened a new chapter for me in the journey of life and I’m glad it happened.

Dalụ nụ Ụmụnne m,

Thank you all!

  1. He did not apologize to Suzanne Ade Coker. He apologized to his tribesmen for supporting Ms Coker during her mental melt and attack of the Igbo on her Republic Rant Hqtr. Your journalism is misleading. Did go through his post at all? Set the records straight please and show the core ethics of our profession which is maintaining truth and fact.
