‘We used strange powers to ensure Tinubu’s presidential victory’

Nigerian cost of living lowest in Africa, says presidency

The Modern Traditional Medicine Practitioners of Nigeria (MTMPN) has said it used strange power to ensure Bola Tinubu’s victory at the poll. The group also urged the Federal Government to regulate and promote proper practice of traditional medicine in the country through passage of the Traditional Medicine Bill to help its growth.

The Vice President, South-South, MTMPN, Dr. Patrick Ebason, disclosed this in Abuja, at the yearly meeting of the group. Ebason said: “Before the election, we, the traditional medicine practitioners, were all here to support President Tinubu to win the election. We all fought through our spiritual power. We used witches and wizards to ensure he won.

“Now, it is time for the President to help us move traditional medicine practice forward. We are asking him to support us, because we worked for it.”

In his remarks, the association’s President, Dr. Ibrahim Dada Nakowa, said: “The message is to call on the Federal Government, through the National Assembly, to pass the MTMP NBill before it. We have over 70 percent of traditional medicine practitioners in Nigeria. Many ailments and problems are being resolved through traditional medicine.

“We are calling on the government to support us, as the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has embarked on strike, to save Nigerians, who have health issues, with our medical help.”

Also speaking, the National Secretary General of the group, Dr. Bamidele Fatoye, called on state governors to support them by helping to boost traditional medicine practice across the country.

He said that herbal and traditional medicine is supposed to be a cultural way of not only treating people, but also diagnosing different types of health problems.
