The Igbos came into Lagos when the Portuguese discovered it and started developing Lagos the then federal capital and the seat of power.
For example, Sir L P Ojukwu bought the entire area now called mile 12 market. He built the Nnewi building at the Apapa Ports to advance shipping business in Nigeria as far back as the colonial period. It was him that made it possible for the black man to live in Ikoyi when he used the power of money to support Zik and co. in the attainment of our independence.
Sir L P Ojukwu was the first Nigerian to move to Ikoyi and domicile at No. 5 Alexander Avenue. The next Nigerian to move to Ikoyi was Dr. Nicholas Majekodunmi of St. Nicholas Hospital followed by Otunba Adekunle Ojora.
Sir L P Ojukwu it was who offered his gleaming Rolls Royce phantom to chauffeur Queen Elizabeth when she visited Nigeria in 1956. Nigeria as a country did not have one at the time. Where were these present Yoruba tribal irredentists when the Igbo man started the development of Lagos? There are other Igbos who made and are still making substantial contributions to the internally generated revenue (IGR) of Lagos State.
Why would any Yoruba in his right senses single out the Igbos for destruction in the name of not voting for Asiwaju?
Is an Igbo man not equally contesting the same presidency?
Why not vote for your brother and i vote for mine? Or, we all vote for credibility and competence.
Since when has voting for any particular candidate become a matter of force, intimidation and death?
