2023 UTME: Anambra philanthropist, gifts laptop to overall best student in mathematics

Anambra State-born philanthropist, Chief Abraham Ikechukwu Otti (Mighty-Mighty),on Saturday, presented brand new laptop computer to Master Lotana Azuokeke, the best student in Mathematics for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Nigeria.

 

Azuokeke, a native of Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of the State, who finished from Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans Ekulu-Enugu, Enugu State, scored 99 over 100 to emerge overall best in Mathematics nationwide but polled a total of 337 in the JAMB-UTME score.

 

Mr Chikezie Chinedu, one of the Conveners of Anambra Man of the Year Award, while making the presentations at ASUU-UNIZIK conference hall, Awka, on Saturday, on behalf of the philanthropist, said it was facilitated by the organisation with a view to celebrate, inspire and encourage the younger generation to work harder in their academics and other endeavours.

 

According to the him, Otti, who will receive award as the 2022 Anambra humanitarian of the Year is a philanthropist of repute, and had decided to honour the student as part of his commitment towards a better society, even as he has intention of sustaining it.

He added that the philanthropist would equally extend same gesture to Miss Kamsiyochukwu Chinyere Umeh, another Anambra State native, who is the best UTME candidate nationwide having scored 360 in the exam

Speaking in an interview with pressmen, the award recipient, Master Lotana Azuokeke, who aimed to study Electrical/Electronic Engineering at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), thanked his parents, school and the philanthropist, noting that the gift would spur him to double efforts to attain greater height in life.

 

Also speaking, the mother of the awardee, Mrs Lilian Azuokeke, said she would put in more effort in advising and encouraging her son, Lotana, to study and become the best both at the University and in labour market.

 

Lotanna Azuokeke will be honoured at the upcoming Anambra man of the year Awards alongside other top scorers in the 2023 UTME exams and other external exams and competitions.
He is from Oba in Anambra State.
