– O give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures for ever”. – Psalm 136 v 26

When I saw the picture of the First Lady standing beside her husband in his recuperating room on his 67th birthday, I had no better option than to roll on the floor to praise the God of heaven “ for his steadfast love endures for ever”.

There is just only one person who could have done this. He is the “ …King of glory. The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle”. Psalm 24 v 8.

Before the day, not many people believed that the man is still alife. Many tales rent the air. Even among those close to him who were trusted and honored with the virtue to know the truth, whom he spoke to on telephone, they sneered, jeered and said it cannot be true. They convinced themselves that it was not his voice. They said it was a manipulation of the voice of Babajide his son through the use of technology. They doubted their own ears and their hearts. What a wicked world.

Our God is the God of life and death, he chooses who to die and who to live. That is his majesty. He shares that peculiarity with no man. So, why the pomposity?

The Psalmist said in Psalm 135 v 5-7 “ For I know the Lord is great; our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the Lord pleases he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the deeps. He, it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain and brings out the winds from his storehouses”. So how can any mortal think he would be able to predict or determine what God will do? It is God’s own prerogative to determine his acts. So, ẹ lọ sinmi agbaja. Aketi is alive.

THE VITUALS AS THE NEW HEARTACHE

I do not like posing my nose into issues that do not concern me. But I hate when people overate themselves and create the impression that they are always right while every other person is wrong. On every issue, certain elements posit and argue from point of ignorance and mischief to the extent of stark stupidity.

If I may ask, what is this unnecessary noise about the pictures of Aketi and his video put on internet? Why are people this judgemental?

The same set of people who had variously claimed Aketi is dead and in a morgue, demanding for the relinquishing of power to his Deputy and accusing the “ Cabal” of hiding something have turned 360 degrees now when they have been confronted with the plain truth and realizing their folly.

It is from this same camp that we are hearing many stories now. They are now shouting that it is wrong to expose a Governor in that state of health because it is an invasion of his “privacy”.

Acting through their legal adviser they suddenly remembered that he is still “ the Governor”. They have gone beyond the scepter of “he is dead and incapacitated” to “ he is in hospice” and “ impeachment proceedings” may soon be commenced against him? What a children of perdition? What a band of insatiable hyenas? What a group of soulless nitwits?

Whatever anyone says about Madam Betty Akeredolu, I will always give it to her and those around Akeredolu, I will always give it to them. Madam Akeredolu is always a step ahead of this haters in the way she does her things especially concerning her family.

Everyone thought she was in Nigeria when the clip of her 70th birthday surfaced on the internet and she was telling the person doing the video to capture the “ Digital Mama” inscribed” on the small cake very well.

In less than few hours she was beside her husband, both decked in white trunks with the Hilfiger embossed in it. Aketi true to type showed the resoluteness of a survivor and the activist in him. Madam Betty on her part displayed the victory sign.

Not long after, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi, leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly ( a man who has been with Aketi for over a week) delivered the message of the people of Owo, that of both the 9th and 10th Assembly and that if the good people of Ondo Sate. This became too much for these mindless irritants and blood sucking goons.
Hell was let loose.

These people would not hear of it. Are they that dumb not to realize it was a deliberate action by both the family and the people who have been at the receiving end of the mindless attacks on the sensibilities of the people since this issue started? Can’t they recognize that if Aketi were to be in a state that he won’t be able to stand the rigors of a birthday celebration, his doctors would not allow it? Can’t they recognize it was to calm the nerves of the people of Ondo State who had been fed with the narratives that their Governor has died or is so incapacitated not to be able to do anything? Can’t they recognize that it was a way to lift the spirit of Aketi on his birthday and to assure those praying for him that their prayers are been answered. What else do they want? They want Aketi dead? God forbid, ( Ọlọrun o ni jẹ́).

Those who know Aketi very well except the pretenders know he is an “uncommon Lion”and an “unusual person”. If his doctors had told him that he won’t make it, he won’t subject himself to the indignity of any social media charade. He will ask both his family and friends to carry him back to Owo or Ibadan. He would have told them “ heavens will not fall”. He would have shaken the hands of his doctors thank them for their professionalism and say to them “ the parting is well made”.

Who do they think Aketi is or what do they take him for? A coward and simpleton like they are? Not at all. Aketi is from the stock of the lions. “Ọmọ Akin ki s’ojo”.

Unfortunately for them, Aketi’s medical record is not known to these people. They are just relying on suppositions and those feeding them with lies are as idiotic as they are. Medical information on his state of health confirmed without any ambiguity that his situation is not hopeless and he will recover fully at the fullness of time. So, let the haters deal with that and their foolishness.

Aketi will come back to finish his term as the Governor of Ondo State. This is the pain some people have because they do not wish to accept that fact. The people of Ondo State voted for Aketi. Aketi is a human being that could fall sick anytime. The constitution of Nigeria is apt about it. Aketi is a first instance in law in Nigeria. Above all “ laiku ekiri, baba nla enikan ko le f’awo e sin Gbedu”.
