ASSU STRIKE: ILLBLISS REACTS TO THE NEW ACTION

Nigerian rap star Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor popularly known as Illbliss, on Saturday showed concern over the going Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASSU strike action.

Illbliss addressed the ASUU strike which has been on for well over eight month now.

He addressed the present government and ASSU lamenting on the poor effect of the long strike on Nigerian youths and the nation at large as the government is paying less attention its educational sector.

Earlier on Friday, the government presented ASSU with a new proposal, a N70 billion earned allowance and revitalization of universities this plans gave agitations that the prolonged industrial action may be called off.

In reaction to the new reports that ASUU may call off the ongoing strike, after the union’s latest meeting with the federal government, Illbliss said Karma would visit all those in the position of power has they should be held responsible for allowing the strike linger this long.

His tweet reads –

“A country in ruins. A country with zero regards for education, took the Federal Government and ASUU eight months to call off a strike. Do you realise how many productive months you condemned for these undergraduates? Shame on this country. May karma visit those in positions of power who let this happen”.

Later on, ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, denied knowledge of any agreement to call off the strike, stressing that at the meeting, it was only agreed that union should convey Government message to their organs and get back to Government.
