Gov. Sanwo-Olu has freed Anayo Nwosu

Gov. Sanwo-Olu has freed Anayo Nwosu – – The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved the release of Anayo Nwosu release on Saturday, 25 April 2020 and the Prison authorities executed the order on Tuesday 28 April 2020.

 

The announcement was done by Prince Azubuike J. Anazodo JP, Chairman of the Ezenwegbu Royal Family, on Tuesday, 28th April.



Anayo Nwosu, along side Ashok Israni, Olajide Oshodi, Sunny Obazee, were sentenced to 5years in prison by Justice Kudirat Jose for an amended 15-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining by false pretense to the tune of N855m, brought agains them by EFCC in December, 2019.

 

That you, Anayo Nwosu, Ashok Israni, Olajide Oshodi, Sunny Obazee, Bank PHB Plc/Keystone Bank Ltd and NULEC Industries Limited, between 14 July and 31st July 2008, in Lagos within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did fraudulently convert to your use the sum of N285, 000, 000.00 (Two Hundred and Eighty-Five Million Naira) being the property of Dozzy Oil and Gas Ltd, when you credited the account of NULEC with the said sum to defray its debt owed to Bank PHB Plc as against paying the sum into the Private Placement Account of NULEC, which sum was to be used as payment for the purchase of shares of NULEC Industries Limited under a Private Placement.

 

That you, Anayo Nwosu, Ashok Israni, Olajide Oshodi, Sunny Obazee, Bank PHB Plc/Keystone Bank Ltd and NULEC Industries Limited, sometime in 2008 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N855, 000, 000.00 (Eight Hundred and Fifty-Five Million Naira) from Dozzy Oil and Gas Ltd, on the false pretence that NULEC Industries Limited was inactive profit-making manufacturing and trading activities, thereby purporting same to be payment for the purchase of shares of the said NULEC Industries Limited under a Private Placement.



“It is my great pleasure to announce that Prince Anayo Nwosu, the Ikenga Ezenwegbu of Nnewi, has been unconditionally released from Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Lagos,” exclaimed Prince Azubuike.

 

He continued, “The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu had approved Anayo’s release on Saturday, 25 April 2020 and the Prison authorities executed the order on Tuesday 28 April 2020 for him to rejoin his darling wife and children.”

 

“Anayo was granted an Unconditional State Pardon that absolves him from the offence for which he was sent to prison. A state pardon makes it illegal for anyone to regard him as an ex-convict. He is now free to continue with his banking career or to hold any political or public office. To the glory of God, the embarrassing and nightmarish blemish has been blotted away.”



“With a grateful heart to an awesome God for delivering him, Anayo bears no grudges for anyone. He rather thankful to God for allowing him pass through an invaluable and transformational prison experience which will make him a better person now and in the future.”

 

“Anayo has benefitted from the words Jesus said in John 8:36 that “he who the son of God sets free is free indeed”.
