“I don’t want to give birth, I don’t want to mother.. I even don’t want to be a step mum, the only mum I want to be is a cat mum.”

Muthoni Gitau said she made the decision at the age of 10, and her parents and family respect her decision since they feel they raised her well enough to make informed decisions.

Claiming that most women are not given an opportunity to choose if they want to indulge in motherhood, she insisted that it is a societal expectation.

According to her, most people cannot really give a reason why they need children except for legacy and family continuation.

Muthoni added;

“Women have been conditioned to serve men and are not allowed to choose what they really want in life. It’s okay to live, it’s okay to choose yourself.”

Meanwhile, Muthoni Gitau have explained why she posted her break-up video on YouTube.

Gitau in an interview with Spice FM presenters; Karigoh Gateere, Barbara M’mbaka and Arnold Francis, revealed the ex-couple didn’t want people to speculate the reason behind their breakup

“I wanted to do it in my own words. I was in a relationship for 7/8 years and it ended and I decided to share that. The reason I decided to do that is I wanted to share it in my own words. A lot of things happen and a story is written and you have no control over it,” said Gitau.

In July 2021, the two announced their break up after a seven year relationship. In the video released on a YouTube channel they used to jointly run, the two revealed that their shared goals were no longer tenable.

Nick acknowledged that he was a little bit lax in pursuing their shared goals and Muthoni was making most of the effort.

On her part, Muthoni said she intended to explore the dating pool because she got into the relationship at 23 and skipped that experience.

“After 7 years, this feels like the best decision for both of us. The plan is to grow and heal as individuals as we evaluate what we want moving forward,” a statement on their YouTube platform.

The two clarified that the channel would continue running under Muthoni as Nick focuses on his own projects.

“This decision was not made overnight. It has been three months of thinking and talking to professionals. There are also certain external factors that have contributed to the decision.

“There are also certain people that made the decision very easy, certain people… I know they are watching so that they can make phone calls, do it!,” Muthoni said.

Keeping a united front against haters and trolls the two said that they were on good terms with each other and Kenyans should not expect them to badmouth each other.

The content creator have also confirmed she has been vaccinated against Covid. She adviced all Kenyans to “Go Get Vaccinated!”

“I got vaccinated this morning! She captioned.

“Just wanted to share my experience and the info I picked up on and maybe just a couple of pointers in case you’re interested or have no clue where to get vaccinated.

I got my vaccination at Better Living Hospital (Behind integrity center) and it was very swift.

We got there a couple of minutes to 9am and were done in 30 minutes max.

There were no queues. Only 2 people were ahead of us. The jab is not painful but you may experience some soreness later on the injection spot.

Make sure to create an account on the MoH portal (I’ll link it in my stories). This makes the process faster. The aim is for them to keep track of the vaccinated people and which vaccine they have received.

After you sign in at the gate, they just ask for your ID number and you get the shot.

You’ll receive a text immediately after telling you the kind of vaccine you’ve received and when you are eligible for the second dose.

ALL THIS IS FREE!
