There have been discussions at the White House about Trump leaving Washington on Jan. 19, a source familiar with the matter said. He is expected to travel to his Florida resourt, the source said.

Recall, before the election, President Donald Trump said to Fox News Channel, “Certainly if I don’t win, I don’t win. I mean, you know, go on and do other things.”

Later during a rally in Macon, Georgia, on a Friday night, Trump spoke on his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, and the possibility of losing to him.

He said, “You know what? Running against the worst candidate in the history of American politics puts pressure on me,” he said, according to Rolling Stone.

“Could you imagine if I lose? My whole life — what am I going to do? I’m going to say, I lost to the worst candidate in the history of politics! I’m not going to feel so good. Maybe I’ll have to leave the country, I don’t know.”

Trump will be the first incumbent president since Andrew Johnson to skip his successor’s inauguration.
