Imonina: Oborevwori Supreme Court's Victory, Well Deserved

A chieftain of PDP in Isoko North LGA, Barr. Sylvester Imonina congratulates the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori on his victory at the Supreme Court.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Warri, the Warri-based legal practitioner stated that the judgement did not come as a surprise to Deltans because Deltans overwhelmingly voted for His Excellency, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. According to him, what the Supreme Court did in Abuja was an imprimatur of the mandate freely given by Deltans to Oborevwori in the last gubernatorial election.

It would be recalled that at the last Governorship polls, Sheriff Oborevwori defeated his closest political rival, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, and others with over one hundred thousand votes but due to the Macbethan ambitions of the losers, they went to the Governorship Election Tribunal to challenge Oborevwori’s victory at the polls. Though, the election Tribunal and the Court of Appeal dismissed the cases of Omo-Agege and his co-travellers for lacking in merit, they still obstinately went to the Supreme Court to ventilate their grievances.

Imonina who was full of praises for the Supreme Court for not allowing some few individuals to subvert the will of Deltans, also profusely thanked Deltans for standing behind Oborevwori in his trying moments. He urged Deltans to continue to support Oborevwori’s led Government of the State for quality dividends of democracy which he has already started.

Imonina who could not hide his joy, prayed God to grant His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori the solomonic wisdom to lead Delta State to the pinnacle of social and economic growth.
