Ghanaian actress, Naa Ashorkor has been sacked from Joy Fm, a Multi Media Group based in Ghana.
Naa Ashorkor made this announcement via social media on Wednesday, 6th April.
Though its an unfortunate news, the award-winning actress used the post to also encourage her followers, saying they should look up to God in such situations because he will make a way.
“I have got Good news and bad news everyone! With immediate effect as of yesterday, my now former employers, Multimedia Group, terminated my appointment. That’s the bad news. Now for the good news, such situations only give my God the opportunity to show up. It’s not an easy time to be out of a regular and steady income. We are not in normal times, but hey, I would like to use this opportunity to encourage everyone who has lost their job or income during these difficult times to not lose hope. Hope is an amazing thing that gives us the ability to stand and trust God in such difficult circumstances. Don’t lose hope. Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans. I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Stay tuned for some more news soon, she said.
To clear things, Joy Fm also made a press statement on why Naa Ashorkor was revealed of duty.
Based on what we can read, the major issue is she avoiding anything visual.
Naa Ashorkor is alleged to have consistently found ways to swerve her television obligations, an action that has occasioned the termination of her contract.
They say –
- She was a Service Provider employed for both Radio and Television. Most media establishments in Ghana employ the Convergence model, where employees are required to work across the various properties of the stable under one contract document
- Management had reason to believe she consistently and deliberately neglected the television aspect of her engagement. ie. Been on JOY Prime for a Relationship Talk show.
- She will be paid one month salary in lieu of the decision to terminate her appointment
- She gets an extra month’s salary to see her through the period
